  3. I've always heard that the Finnish are superb race car drivers. Have you ever done any racing? If so, do have any videos of it. Also I've heard of a maneuver called the Scandinavian flick. Are you familiar with this term?

  4. THANK YOU GUYS!!! You are the BEST! Lauri, your excitement over the smallest things is WONDERFUL! And Anni, you are the perfect wife for someone as crazy as Lauri. Instead of not involved or approving of what your husband does, you help him set up the the things going on in the video. I hope you are not offended by the thing I say but, even with your accent, your cursing and use of English phrases makes it better. "AND HERE VEE GO! You both love what you do. You are always very excited and most of the time you are unsure of whats going to happen. Thank you again

  5. 9:56 "He"? 😀 My dad does that all the time. It's what happens when one's native language does not have gendered pronouns like English does. 😉

  7. ….. Yes I made a comment on your Coca-Cola motor oil video. You held up a part wondering what it was and I mentioned that that was a spider shaft with one of the two spider gears on it. The reason you lost your gearbox is because you have one wheel off the ground spinning it at ungodly speeds and also torquing it with the break probably didn't help either. When one wheel spins faster than the other it activates the spider gears and they're really only used for turning. cars would have solid axles if it wasn't for this problem in which you try to turn and the wheel on the outside of the turn will move faster than the inside wheel. This is where your spider gears come in. The spider gears will then allow the two axle shafts to spend at different speeds. While you're driving straight down the road those two axle shafts are spinning at the same speeds and the spider gears really aren't doing anything. They aren't really built for what you guys just did. This would blow up any differential. Keep that in mind for future vehicles, any time you spin one wheel faster than the other for extended periods of time you are destroying your differential. You guys actually demonstrated something that mechanics have to explain to people all the time. This goes for if you put your spare tire on a car, this is why it says do not go more than 50 miles on that spare tire. Putting a donut smaller tire on the front of your front wheel drive car WILL do damage to your differential. This also includes all wheel drive vehicles which actually have other components that can be damaged as well (transfer case components), you cannot have 3 half life tires and one exploded tire and then go to a automotive repair shop and ask them to install one new tire. That goes for all wheel drive vehicles. Some people will debate you on that, if you care about your car don't do it! This is because the three other tires are actually smaller in overall circumference then the brand new tire that you just bought and so the brand new tire is going to cause that actual to spin slower than the rest.

In your case you guys showed a very extreme result, in which th that shaft is supposed to have 2 gears which are rotating on it. I would bet money that the shaft in your hand has that gear welded to it. Once that happened it probably split the spider shaft in half. The spider shaft is only held in with one bolt on ond end of the shaft. So what happened was the end that has the bolt probably stayed inside the carrier whike the part that's in your hand rocket launched through the final drive case.

    Pretty Cool!

  13. Differential probably failed. No bearings on the spider gears to take that one wheel spinning abuse.
