THE HEMI FITS! Our Motor Swapped Jeep Wrangler JLU Rubicon Goes Back Together!

Brittney's the bus and the bus but I'm the captain now what if I created what's up life right Nations going on welcome officially today three of the stepchild build putting a six point four liter Hemi in the stepchild guys so today the ultimate goal is to get the body back onto the frame which means we're going to work on getting all of the wiring the wiring harnesses the plumbing everything prepped ready to go so we can lower it back on speaking of the body being lowered just in case anyone's curious every evening before we've left they've lowered the body as much as possible to the frame since California has decided that now is the time to earthquake on a daily freaking basis the moment apparently we rock that much sorry California it's okay so you're gonna use a hybrid of wiring harnesses you're gonna use your factory harness along with new harnesses that come with the swap kit here you can see this is all our factory power distribution or wiring harness here then there's the new harness with all the pretty nice shiny stuff here along with our old harness there and then we have this looks like transmission lines that are gonna run to the front oh yeah look at that already hooked up transmission lines coolant lines everything everything's gonna kind of go on and get ready oh one other thing this is kind of important or do you want to show this later when we're doing it right the breather tube okay so your transfer case breather tube is literally right here that's it so that's like way down here thanks again Gramps another transmission breather tube goes from here and it runs up and even even factoring it comes up into the engine bay so what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a hose and we're gonna we're gonna run it along the transmission all the way up into the engine bay as well yeah not 100% certain whining Jeep decided the transmission tube need to come up here but the transfer case tubes needed to stay that name guess what Scott bloom will actually probably message me on this and tell me exactly why he'll either say well because of this you idiot or it'll be like you don't need to you idiot either way I'll probably be an idiot for it it's there there is a one-way valve in here but that can get covered with gunk and stuff and eventually stick open so or close so at least RS safety purposes we're gonna run it up there so the front rear diff here is the breather tube so normally this just attaches right under the body right here which is pretty high out of the way especially I mean this is about what head level on the engine but what we're gonna do is we're gonna extend this and kind of go up into the wheel well and extend it even higher just in case we ever do any yeah you know now that we got 40 how else can we bring everything no we're not gonna do that okay so these are our goals for the day let's get started I just want to take a quick second to show off these low-profile zip ties these bad boys they lay totally totally flat I've seen these before I've never used them before but I think they're the coolest thing in the history of mankind right now and all drifters should use these in people in general probably yeah like compared to that crap look at that crap it just sticks up it wasn't even cut who left that uncut don't know sir but you cut that and then you stabbed people with them and it's the worst low profile cable ties they save lives exam time all right so what we have here is our electric power steering system this is an electric power steering pump now on most vehicles they have mechanical pumps on the jl and actually a lot of new vehicles they went to an electric pump this is an inline cooler that I added for the hydro assist but you can kind of see this is where your fluids at feeds into the pump the pump has a high pressure low pressure and it kind of goes through the whole system here this is a cooler this technically is a cooler it's just a line thingamabobs yeah I did like the electric system because at idle it gave you tons of assists then on the highway it would dumb down the assist so it gave you a heavier steering feel and I really like that especially with our Ramo says but now coming over looking here that was sitting right here and that had to get cut off and moved out of the way so now we have an actual we have a mechanical pump which will just feed right into our box here and then into our hoses so if you want to see how the hydro assist works this went to redneck Ram this is actually your steering gearbox this was removed redneck Ram actually drilled and tapped here drilled and tapped here inside they also do a couple little things that we don't know of and they don't tell us what they do for pirate airy stuff inside right but now we're gonna have a mechanical pump instead of an electric pump but I just wanted to show you guys that I'm a little bit sad about it and if I could keep the electric pump maybe we can mount it somewhere you're trying to make this so much more difficult it needs to be 6 4 Hemi or electric power steering which one do you want duh ok then end of conversation well all right got everything pretty much ready to go to set the body back down we do have to make a couple of modifications up here and we'll show you but what's really neat is that the fuel system actually remains factory so here's the stock fuel line they give you a connection here and it runs all the way up right to the fuel rail now that means that FCA provided a fuel pump that can produce enough fueling needs for a 6-4 Hemi which is pretty neat because it came with a 36 and we're not having to change anything transmission lines super clean which I really like how all that routes through and is secured then here's our heater core hoses as well here's where the fuel line runs up and snaps into the fuel rail and then here's the wiring harness that all comes with it and you can see where it runs all the way to the front and then let me show you around the front the mechanical power steering this is your high pressure line you can see it's the really nice line the fitting goes right to the steering box and then even your AC lines so this is gonna be literally everything here as a plug-and-play kit they custom made these AC lines for this swap kit yeah so I mean everything is literally plug-and-play and then here's here's the rest of the harness for everything because now the ECU is gonna be right here and the airbox you can see where the cup is gonna come off and the airbox is gonna be right here on the driver's side now instead of the passenger side and so the next step at this point is getting the new exhaust put in the part about the exhaust so that is gonna be interesting and this is the case anytime you're modifying an already modified vehicle is aftermarket parts don't always work well together and that means we have an issue when it comes to fitment with our next venture Motorsports onboard air system so we may have to wait until we have the body actually back down on the vehicle or on the frame of the vehicle before we worry about this part because otherwise it might be weird good news huh sort of maybe we may be able to cut the muffler off here and actually move it to the rear section and weld the muffler in so the muffler be over there in the rear yeah cuz you can see before our exhaust went right through here next to our air system so yeah we got a that'll be interesting we'll have to figure that out now for anyone who's curious what this exactly is it's basically exhaust insulation wrap it's heat wrap and its sole purpose basically is protect not only the fuel tank here but also the fuel lines in the evap lines as well since it runs right through there in all honesty though the exhaust really is one of our favorite parts about this entire kit other than the 6-4 Hemi of course but the reason for that is because the fit finish and quality of the exhaust is as great if not even honestly more great than what it comes from Factory it's so clean now as for this piece in particular we've decided that we're gonna leave it off for the moment because we still have not quite figured out what we're gonna do as far as our air system goes and the exhaust in the exhaust goes we don't know if we want to try to relocate our air system or if we'd rather just cut the muffler and put the muffler back we're kind of the factory Wrangler muffler used to be we don't know yet so we're just gonna hold off on that for now get the body back on and then from there I think okay so the next step in this build process is we actually do have to relocate the steering shaft through the firewall which means you do have to cut a new hole into the firewall right yes kind of see so where exactly are we moving that boy and I shouldn't touch that pretty much we cut this off right okay so not totally shifting it but just bullshitting okeydoke just put it on this bye-bye they're both on being here here Victory's ours Oh this point the body is basically ready to go back onto the frame at which point we can hook everything up we can bleed brakes we can put fluids we can do where´s we're still waiting on the ECU that's gonna be here tomorrow yeah we can't start it started here but we can get just about everything prepped and ready to go so that all will be waiting on is the ECU who is it who's interrupting our spam it's anti spam risk ten times a day time okay every day so yeah everything's plumbed all the wiring is there it's ready to go we're just in the lower body hook up the braid hook up the the little lines I mean man for a few minutes but look how much room there is there's still room for activities there really is like I can I mean easy gets the dipstick right it is well I mean look at the crank to the crossmember II look at that plenty of room I know jellies excitement so I say huh now I got shop dog paw prints on my jeans so you guys want to know what's super ironic this two door right here is also getting a 6-4 Hemi David how many v8 swaps have you done more than oil changes for sure done v8 swaps then oil change average about endergonic or at least for a month put it this way you see the Jeep is like literally ready to start up in the next probably two hours everything will drop in we're on day three but each day has only been a five to six hour day yeah so day after day two we're to about 11 hours and today we've only had three hours yeah well the point here is that if you do want a motor spot y'all do health caps and everything else though too don't you they do everything if you want to motor swapping general DCD customs hit him up link in the description below so at this point all that's left is hooking up all of the thingamajigs and the watch from a bond that way when the ECU comes back in we're ready to start her up I do want to mention one more thing we're to this kind of progress with one guy working on this and us bothering on the entire time what's this for how much is this can't we do this yeah have y'all ever seen the scene hell I've seen those signs where it says if you want us to work on it it's this much per hour if you want to watch it's this much more per hour if you want to help etc etc so we've literally this is like we're like at $1,000 an hour because we're doing everything that you are not supposed to do when someone is working on your vehicle see [Applause] all right you guys so that officially concludes day three of the 6.4 liter srt hemi swap for the steps I'm getting super excited everything is in all that we're missing at this point is a battery fluids and of course the ECU we don't have the EC back hopefully that'll come back tomorrow it's in the mail overnighted oh we can get this thing started up in the next video because that's all we got for tonight we've probably worked on it for about seven hours today and by we I mean one technician and two youtubers being is possibly obnoxious as they can to any technician working on a vehicle so it really genuinely is pretty impressive that they've made it this far with the build with us filming yeah 18 hours and it's pretty good to go yeah basically we had the ECU we would have kept working on it another probably two hours and had it running but we don't have it so we're gonna call it quits for tonight but part of it also is that normally you drop your vehicle off they call you in a couple weeks and it's done or whatever you just even they work on it me being here and knowing about vehicles seeing this happen I have tons of questions I'm like oh that's cool yeah so that's not yeah either time-consuming Weisberg I eighteen hours to be at this point is pretty awesome guys DCD customs we can't thank them enough again they're amazing though they're here in LA I think specifically Chatsworth California so if you guys are in the air you should definitely check them out especially if you have a jeep and you want anything done to your vehicle but in the meantime thank you for watching please don't forget to Like subscribe and share remember you can find all your lite-brite nation merch like bright studios.com all of your life bright nation decals at pixel decals calm thank you for watching we love you and we will see you next time it'll be round it's gonna be started next time thanks guys nah he's in the next one hey my face is a little wonky right oh that kind of wonky bright walk yeah I just want to take a quick second to Pro apps I just want to take a quick check second Jesus I can't gig together

But hey on another note what are you doing to handle the extra cooling demands of the Hemi?

  4. So, they could have done this in 8 hours without you 2 needling them? 😉 I do appreciate them letting you film, it shows they do quality work and not afraid to hide anything from their customers.

  5. That's so crazy to me seeing the Fuel Rail and injectors sitting on top of that Hemi. Y because the company I work for builds those injectors and rails. I'm literally building injectors right now! First time I've actually seen them used in an application. Gotta Love American Muscle!
