  1. Now I know where the name Abarth comes from. Fiat is struggling in North America and I am pleased that the brand, in spite of the withdrawal of the 500 mini car, will continue to compete in this market. In retrospect the 500 was the wrong car to launch this brand for this market, as the similar Smart car really bombed in North America. Fiat has the vehicles to gain a foothold in North America, but their product offerings, reliability reputation and marketing plan need considerable re-evaluation and work. I did love their advertising campaign though, that girl on the beach, those diving swimming cars and the best, the old guy with that fumbled pill…so funny.
