  7. I worked in Buick, Chrysler, AMC/Jeep, Mazda and Fiat dealerships. AMC was, by far, the lowest quality vehicle delivered by any of those brands. AMC cars were assembled by hand on their assembly line. Everyone was different. Nothing ever fit and the dealer was responsible for making them do so. Unlike other manufactures AMC included adjusting doors, hoods, deck lids and widows in its "Buyer Protection" warranty and passed the job off on the dealers.

  10. Great video but a mismanaged company, so many stories of amc executives cutting corners especially with quality control. You could get a great amc and the next one on the production line was a piece of shit. A high performance editor from car and driver or some magazine reviewed an amx where during testing the wheels fell off, the head of amc called him to chew him out after the article was published- the editor told him that he should spend more time making better cars than cussing him out on the phone.

  16. My first car was an AMC Matador station wagon. It had a weak straight six, we drove it like crazy, wrote “draggin wagon’ on the windshield, towed a boat with it for years. It was a beast
